Hypermobility, Fibromyalgia & Sensitive Systems

Gentle, stabilizing therapeutic massage for sensitive, reactive, and complex bodies in Milwaukee.

Hypermobility, fibro, autism, ADHD, PTSD, and other forms of neurodivergence all share something in common: they require a  different approach to touch, pressure, communication, and pacing. These systems feel the world more intensely — physically, emotionally, and neurologically.

Some bodies need deep pressure to feel grounded. Others need slow, subtle contact to avoid overwhelm. Many need both, depending on the day. Pain moves, tension shifts, and the nervous system can go from “fine” to “activated” fast. You’re not dramatic or difficult — your body simply processes sensation differently.

My work is designed specifically for sensitive systems: slow, stabilizing, deeply attuned, and always collaborative.

Why Sensitive & Neurodivergent Systems Need Specialized Care

These bodies often experience:

  • lax connective tissue or joint instability (common with hEDS/hypermobility)
  • amplified sensory processing, including touch sensitivity or craving heavy pressure
  • difficulty with proprioception (where the body is in space)
  • pain that migrates or changes rapidly
  • fatigue, brain fog, or burnout cycles
  • nervous system hypervigilance, especially with trauma histories or PTSD
  • tension used as a stability strategy
  • overstimulation, especially in busy, loud, or unpredictable environments

When your system already works overtime to feel safe, many forms of massage are simply too much.

Here, the pace slows down.
Your cues matter.
Your boundaries shape the session.

And your nervous system leads the way.

How I Work With Hypermobility, Fibro, Neurodivergence & Trauma-Sensitive Bodies

I blend gentle deep tissue, slow myofascial release, Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT), breath-aware work, and subtle movement cues. The goal is to reduce pain, create grounding, and support stability without pushing your system into overwhelm or irritation.

My approach is:

  • sensory-aware
  • trauma-informed
  • collaborative, not prescriptive
  • predictable, steady, and clear
  • pressure-adaptable (light to deep, always consensual)
  • paced for your nervous system, not the clock

Deep tissue is available — but only in the way that actually works for sensitive systems: slow, intentional, and never something your body has to brace against.

You can request:

  • minimal talking
  • more talking
  • dimmer lights
  • weighted blankets
  • breaks
  • pressure adjustments
  • no surprise transitions
  • clear explanations before techniques
  • no music, or music tailored to sensory needs

Your comfort is part of the treatment.

What This Work Feels Like

Clients often describe the sessions as grounding, clarifying, and stabilizing — the kind of deep work that doesn’t leave them sore, overstimulated, or wiped out afterward. Pain softens. Joints feel more supported. The nervous system quiets enough to breathe deeper. The body feels more “inhabited” and less scattered.

Trauma survivors frequently report feeling safer and more in control in their body.
Neurodivergent clients often feel more regulated and less sensory-overloaded.
Hypermobile clients feel more supported and less fatigued after movement.

This work meets your system where it is — not where it “should” be.

Who This Helps

This session is a good fit if you experience:

  • hypermobility or hEDS
  • fibromyalgia or chronic widespread pain
  • autistic sensory sensitivity
  • ADHD-related tension or body dysregulation
  • trauma histories, PTSD, or anxiety around touch
  • sensitive or easily irritated tissue
  • shifting or unpredictable pain patterns
  • difficulty recovering from aggressive massage
  • proprioceptive challenges or feeling “disconnected” from your body
  • overstimulation or nervous system burnout

You don’t need to explain your symptoms in medical terms. What you feel is valid — and workable.

A Whole-System, Nervous System–Led Approach

Your connective tissue, nervous system, and emotional load are inseparable.
When the system feels safe and supported, everything downstream changes:

  • pain decreases
  • breath deepens
  • joints stabilize
  • sensory overwhelm settles
  • tension stops acting as a survival strategy

This work creates the conditions for that shift.

Serving Clients Across Milwaukee

I support clients from Bay View, Riverwest, Shorewood, Wauwatosa, East Side, Walker’s Point, and throughout the Milwaukee area who are searching for gentle deep tissue, neurodivergent-affirming massage, and trauma-aware therapeutic bodywork. If other practitioners have pushed too hard, moved too fast, or misunderstood your needs, this space is intentionally different.

Take the next step.

If you're ready for bodywork that honors your system instead of overwhelming it, I’d be honored to support you.
